S&T team takes third in international competition

The Mars Rover Design Team at Missouri S&T was among the top finishers in the annual University Rover Challenge, an international competition held at the Mars Desert Research Station in Hanksville, Utah. The Missouri S&T team came in third overall in the event, which was won by a team from the University of Michigan.

McManus receives Army Historical Foundation award

Dr. John C. McManus, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of history and political science at Missouri S&T, has received the Army Historical Foundation’s Distinguished Writing Award in the category of Operational/Battle History for his book Island Infernos: The US Army’s Pacific War Odyssey, 1944.

Mochalin published in ACS Nano

Dr. Vadym Mochalin, an associate professor of chemistry and materials science and engineering, leads an international team of scientists from the United States, Germany and Australia in discussing  ultrasmall nanodiamonds in fundamental research and applications in an article, titled “Ultrasmall Nanodiamonds: Perspectives and Questions.” The American Chemical Society journal, ACS Nano, recently published the article.
