Dr. Abdulmohsin Imqam, assistant professor of petroleum engineering, will serve as a member of the technical program committee for the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference June 20-22 in Houston. He will also serve as the session chair for the completion technologies session.

Nine employees honored at Staff Day ceremony
Nine employees at Missouri S&T were honored Wednesday, May 25 for their contributions to the campus during Staff Day celebration. Each winner received a certificate and plaque during this morning’s awards ceremony in the Havener Center. The winners were selected from a group of staff members who were nominated by faculty, staff and students.

S&T students forge a win at international bladesmithing competition
Overcoming hurdle after hurdle, a group of Missouri S&T students won the grand prize at the 2022 Wadsworth-Sherby TMS Bladesmithing Contest, an international competition sponsored by The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS). The students designed and handcrafted a sword, filmed a video, designed a poster and wrote a report about their process.

Dr. Daniel B. Oerther, professor of environmental engineering, has been re-appointed to an additional three-year term as a trustee of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) in the United Kingdom. He is currently serving a three-year term that began in January 2020.
