Fire alarm testing underway

Missouri S&T’s facilities services staff, in conjunction with Cintas Fire Protection, is inspecting campus building fire alarm systems. The process begins this week and will continue for the following three to four weeks. Inspections will be conducted in the following buildings:

Engineering Management Building to close at 5 p.m. again today

Due to a safety issue, the Engineering Management Building will be locked at 5 p.m. today (Thursday, Aug. 5). University Police asks all faculty, staff and students to leave the building by 5 p.m. The building will be open as usual by 7:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6.

No power outage planned today at Schrenk Hall

Crews completed their work during a power outage yesterday (June 21) in the west side of Schrenk Hall. The power outages previously planned today (Tuesday, June 22) and tentatively tomorrow (Wednesday, June 23) have been canceled.

Electrical power outage planned in Emerson Hall

The east wing of Emerson Hall will not have electricity beginning at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11. The outage will last until midnight. Power will be restored on Wednesday, May 12. The outage will not affect the west side of the building.

Electricians continue to work on power restoration of Fulton Hall. Some power is on, but please do not enter the building until power is completely restored. The building is expected to reopen at the start of the day on Thursday, Feb. 25, or Friday, Feb. 26.

Fire alarm testing planned today in Butler-Carlton, Clayco ACML

Crews will test the fire alarm system at approximately 1 p.m. today (Monday, Aug. 31) in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall and the Clayco Advanced Construction and Materials Laboratory. The tests will include horns and strobes so individuals in the buildings may hear the alarms and see the alarm lights flashing.

Elevator temporarily out of service

The elevator in the Classroom Learning Center is temporarily out of order. It is expected to be back in service by noon Monday, Aug. 31. In the meantime, individuals may use the elevator in the connected Computer Science Building.
