- Dr. John McManus, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of history, will appear in the History Channel’s “Presidents at War” show at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17. McManus also is quoted in the article, “How Gen. Eisenhower Spun a Humiliating WWII Defeat into Winning Military Strategy,” published Jan. 29 on the History Channel website.

Lecturer to examine culture of strength
Dr. Simon J. Bronner, Maxwell C. Weiner Distinguished Visiting Professor of Humanities, will present a lecture 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in St. Pat’s C of the Havener Center. His talk is titled “In Search of the Modern Hercules: The Material Culture of Strength.” A reception will follow the lecture.
