U.S. Air Force Detachment 442 at Missouri S&T

The U.S. Air Force Detachment 442 at Missouri S&T received the 4Q Regional Team Excellence Award, ranking it No. 1 among 34 detachments.

In Fall 2018, S&T’s detachment also received high rankings when it was named:

  • 1 of 16 mid-size Air Force ROTC detachments regionally
  • 4 of 50 mid-size detachments nationally for overall excellence

Also during the fall semester, U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Samuel “Bo” Mahaney, and his wife, Christine, attended the detachment’s Dining Out event. Mahaney, a two-star general originally from St. James, Missouri, is chief of staff for Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, Illinois. He is an S&T alumnus, graduating 1985 with a B.A. degree in history.
