A team of four S&T students won first place in the first round of the Accenture U.S. Innovation Challenge on Feb. 8 in Minneapolis and advanced to the national semi-final on Feb. 15. The nationwide multi-round event combines hands-on consulting experience with the opportunity to make a positive impact across our communities.

Student participants included:

  • Christopher Gu, a junior in computer science
  • Alec McDaniel, a sophomore in information science and technology
  • Luis Ocampo, a sophomore in information science and technology
  • Jamie Schwartz, a senior in information science and technology, and computer science

Teams worked with national non-profit Feeding America and developed a solution for a case based on a challenge that the organization faces. With the first round win, the team will now compete in the national semi-final on February 15.
