Careaga recounts branding journey from UMR to S&T

“The Elements of Brand-building in Higher Education: The Role of Strategy, Research and Internal Engagement,” by Andrew Careaga, executive director of marketing and communications, was published in the winter 2017-18 edition of the Journal of Education Advancement & Marketing. The invited paper describes Missouri S&T’s branding initiatives during the 2007-08 name change from UMR and more recent branding efforts associated with S&T’s strategic plan. The abstract is available online.

Give your feedback on strategic plan draft

Missouri S&T is contributing to a systemwide plan for all four University of Missouri System campuses, called the Missouri Compact for Education, Research, Engagement and Economic Development. All faculty, staff and students are invited to review the first draft of S&T’s plan and provide feedback to advocate@mst.edu. For consideration in the current draft, please submit your feedback by noon Friday, Dec. 8. All input will be considered throughout the process, which calls for final drafts in May 2018 and approval by the UM System Board of Curators in June 2018.

Strategic planning committee formed

In conjunction with the University of Missouri System, Missouri S&T is contributing to a systemwide plan for all four UM System campuses, named the Missouri Compact for Education, Research, Engagement and Economic Development. Much of Missouri S&T’s previous strategic planning has focused on the compact’s strategic areas. Updates and details on the planning process will be posted online. Dr. Christopher G. Campus community participates in strategic planning

More than 100 people attended the Strategic Planning Summit on Nov. 3 to review the progress made on Missouri S&T’s strategic plan. Approximately 175 people, including alumni, students, faculty and staff, met Nov. 10-11 at a mid-cycle opportunity review and analyzed steps taken for the plan and recommended changes.
