Learn about anime, Japanese pop culture

Are you an anime fan or curious about what the fuss is about? Missouri S&T and the University of Missouri-St. Louis will offer the online course, “ALP 1001: Anime Nation: Popular Culture in Japan” this fall. Students can choose one 8-week session: either Aug. 19-Oct. 12 or Oct. 14-Dec. 14.

Celebrate student artists tonight

A reception to honor the artwork of S&T students will be held 5-7 p.m. today (Monday, May 6) in the atrium of the Havener Center. At 6 p.m., the Renaissance Student Award will be presented. The award, which includes a $1,000 prize, will be presented by S&T’s arts, languages, and philosophy department. Awards for students in French, film studies and Russian will also be given out.

Ivliyeva named CAFE assistant chair
