Dr. K.N. Gunalan (Guna) will present a talk, “Engineering the Future” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Room 125 of Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Guna is vice president of alternative delivery at AECOM, based in Salt Lake City, and president-elect of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Sneed named to journal editorial board

Dr. Lesley Sneed, associate professor and Stirrat Faculty Scholar in civil, architectural and environmental engineering, has been appointed to the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Composites for Construction. The journal is an American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) publication. It features original research papers, review papers and case studies on the use of fiber-reinforced composite materials in construction.

Civil engineering leader to speak today

The new president-elect of the nation’s oldest engineering society will share her vision of the profession’s future in a guest lecture. Robin A. Kemper, a senior risk engineering consultant for Zurich Services Corp., will serve as president of the American Society of Civil Engineers starting in 2018.
