The university community is invited to an open house at University Advancement’s new campus office 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 5, on the lower level of Hasselmann Alumni House. The advancement team is thrilled to share a home with the Miner Alumni Association. Please come by for refreshments and tour the home shared by more than 60,000 Miner alumni.

Nesbitt named ‘Missouri Mother of the Year’

American Mothers Inc. named Joan Nesbitt Missouri Mother of the Year. Nesbitt is the vice chancellor for University Advancement at S&T. Along with honorees from each state, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, Nesbitt will be honored at the American Mothers National Convention April 22-24 in Washington, D.C.

Emergency fund helps students

The S&T Student Emergency Fund assists S&T students by providing financial support with unexpected emergency expenses that greatly affect their lives, including their ability to be successful academically. The financial support from this fund allows students to have their needs met and continue their education. Funds may be used for situations including medical care or prescriptions, groceries, or essential academic expenses.

CASE recognizes advancement team

Missouri S&T was recently recognized by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for excellence in fundraising. S&T received a 2016 CASE Sustained Excellence Award in Fundraising for Overall Performance, based on judges’ analysis of three years of fundraising data.

University Advancement earns 11 CASE awards

The University Advancement division earned 11 awards out of over 400 submissions during the CASE District VI conference, held Jan. 24-26 in Kansas City, Missouri. The division received four gold awards, two silver awards and five bronze awards for projects ranging from graphic design and news writing to video and photography.

Presenters were Joan Nesbitt, vice chancellor for University Advancement; Dr. Lea-Ann Morton, assistant vice chancellor for University Advancement; Darlene Ramsay, assistant vice chancellor for alumni relations and advancement services; Andrew Careaga, executive director of marketing and communications; Heidi Lyle, executive assistant for University Advancement; and Amber Stienbarger, administrative associate for development.
