NSF grant goes to Medvedeva

Dr. Julia Medvedeva, professor of physics, recently received a $1.6 million grant from the National Science Foundation’s Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future (DMREF) program. Her co-principal investigators are Northwestern University researchers Dr. Robert P.H. Chang, professor of materials science and engineering, and Dr. Matthew Grayson, associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science.

A Missouri S&T group earned second place in the Hunt-Kelly Outstanding Paper Award (AIME) for its work titled “Developing a Third-Generation Advanced High-Strength Steel With Two-Stage TRIP Behavior.” The second place earned the team $2,500 from the Association of Iron and Steel Technology (AIST).
