Helen White of Edgar Springs died May 8. She was 89. White worked in accounting at Missouri S&T for several years and retired in 1990. Visitation for family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. tonight (Thursday, May 10) at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. George McPherson Jr., professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at Missouri S&T, died Monday, Dec. 18. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Rolla. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Friends Service Committee. McPherson, a member of the S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering, joined the Missouri S&T faculty in 1956 and retired in 1985.Read More »

Charles Irwin, former supervisor of computing and information services at Missouri S&T, died Thursday, Aug. 6. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the First Baptist Church, 801 N. Cedar St. in Rolla. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Null and Son Funeral Home.

Garry Scantlin, retired member of the physical facilities staff at Missouri S&T, died Saturday, June 6. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. today (Tuesday, June 9) in the St. James Chapel of the James and Gahr Mortuary, 117 Seymour St. in St. James, Missouri. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, in the same location.
Mr. Scantlin joined the staff of Missouri S&T in April 1999 and retired in September 2010. He is the husband of Betty Scantlin, telecommunication IT analyst in information technology.Read More »
