Memorial service planned for Dick Vitek

Richard K. Vitek passed away May 21. He earned a master’s degree in chemistry from S&T in 1958 and is a past president of the Board of Trustees and trustee emeritus. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held in his honor at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, at First United Methodist Church in Clermont, Florida.
At Missouri S&T, Vitek’s legacy includes an endowed chair in biochemistry and a graduate fellowship in analytical chemistry. He is also co-founder of the S&T Foundation for Chemical Research and an Alumni of Influence honoree in 2016.
