Educational research mini-grants awarded to five faculty projects

Duan places third in NASA competition

Dr. Lian Duan, assistant professor of aerospace engineering, co-authored a paper that was selected as the third-place winner of NASA Langley’s H.J.E. Reid Award. The Reid Award is NASA Langley’s top award recognizing technical excellence in research publications.

Aerospace engineering students win grant funding for satellite

Three Missouri S&T Ph.D. students in aerospace engineering won the Educational Alliance Program’s University Grant Program, receiving $1,000 in funding. Jill Davis, Pavel Galchenko and Donna Jennings won first place with their project, “Verification and Validation of Student-Designed Guidance, Navigation and Control Algorithms.”

Duan’s paper on acoustic radiation recognized by NASA

Dr. Lian Duan, assistant professor of aerospace engineering, co-authored a paper that received a third-place H.J.E. Reid Award. The Reid Award is NASA Langley Research Center’s top award recognizing technical excellence in research publications. Duan and Meelan M. Choudhari, an aerospace engineer at Langley, wrote the paper, titled “Numerical Study of Acoustic Radiation due to a Supersonic Turbulent Boundary Layer.”
