Duan places third in NASA competition

Lian Duan portraitDr. Lian Duan, assistant professor of aerospace engineering, co-authored a paper that was selected as the third-place winner of NASA Langley’s H.J.E. Reid Award. The Reid Award is NASA Langley’s top award recognizing technical excellence in research publications.

The paper, “Numerical Study of Acoustic Radiation due to a Supersonic Turbulent Boundary Layer,” was published in the May 10, 2014, issue of Journal of Fluid Mechanics. Co-authors are Dr. Meelan M. Choudhari, senior research scientist at NASA, and Minwei Wu with the National Institute of Aerospace.
