Today’s barbecue fundraiser to benefit EWB

Visitors coming to campus for space consortium, discover day, tech conference

Hundreds of visitors are expected on campus in the coming days for the following events:

  • The 27th annual spring meeting of the NASA-Missouri Space Grant Consortium will be held in the Havener Center on Friday, April 20, and Saturday, April 21. Attendees on both days will park in Lot H, located at University Drive and Highway 63, or Lot C-48, located at the corner of 11th and Bishop streets.
  • Prospective students and families will explore S&T during a Discover Day, hosted by the office of admissions.
  • Approximately 650 students will participate in the Missouri Technology Student Association (TSA) State Conference from Sunday, April 22, to Tuesday, April 24. Most activities will be held at the Havener Center and the Student Recreation Center.

Safety first – join a campus committee

Missouri S&T is forming a Safety and Security Committee and needs two staff representatives. This new committee will include staff, student and faculty representatives to help address concerns on campus. Nominations can be submitted to Staff Council at mststaffcouncil@mst.edu. Nominations are due Monday, April 30, in order for the committee to meet before this semester ends.

Catch championship round of simulation competition

Come and watch as student teams put their business strategies to the test in the final round of a simulation competition 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, in the Havener Center’s atrium. The final round is hosted by Peabody Energy. Through the competition, which began in March, students build a business from the ground up and compete in an ever-changing market in real time.

The University Police and Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity will hold a barbecue for Philanthropalooza 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, April 27, near the Puck. Proceeds from the sale of burgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks will go to the Student Emergency Fund.

Fraternity Drive repairs complete
