Missouri S&T’s Staff Council will host a blood drive for the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, June 28, and Friday, June 29, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center. All participants will get a red, white and blue T-shirt. If you would like to volunteer to help staff the blood drive, please sign up online. One-hour shifts are available, and you may volunteer as your schedule allows.

The Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce warns the campus community that a group named Elite Designs is calling area businesses to sell advertisement space for athletic and football posters. The chamber encourages area companies not to advertise with this group. The company does not have a local business license and is not working with local schools. Volunteers needed for Project X design contest
The new student programs staff seeks running judges to assist opening week mentor teams during their Project X track competition, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17. Volunteer judges may pick any timeframe or stay the entire time. This position requires jogging across campus to follow teams as they race. Volunteers will get a free T-shirt and meal. Friday’s lecture to focus on Ozarks’ Civil War history
John Bradbury, retired assistant director of the State Historical Society of Missouri, will present a lecture at 7 p.m. Friday, June 22, on the second floor of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library. His lecture is titled “Civil War Across the Ozarks.” The lecture is part of the library’s summer exhibition, “Impressions of the Civil War in the West,” which will run through Friday, Aug. 31.
