Students can apply for two upcoming programs that focus on undergraduate research:

  • The office of undergraduate studies is accepting applications for the 2019-20 OURE Fellows. Applications are due Friday, March 1, in the experiential learning office.
  • Applications are open for the 2019-20 Opportunities for Undergraduate Research Experiences (OURE) program. Applications are due Wednesday, May 1, in the experiential learning office at Room 119 of the Kummer Student Design and Experiential Learning Center.

Lambda Sigma Pi and the St. Pat’s Board will host the 11th annual door decorating competition for faculty and staff offices. To participate, sign up for the contest by Friday, March 1. Doors will be judged at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 6. The winners will be announced during the St. Pat’s court arrival Wednesday, March 13.

Celebrate Black History Month this weekend

The campus community is invited to celebrate Black History Month at the following events:

  • Black History Month Celebration: 7-10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. “Harlem Nights Casino” is the theme. Join students for a comedy set performed by Nick Nichols, a comedian and S&T alumnus, plus games, food, music and raffles.
  • Dinner to Jazz: 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in Hasselmann Alumni House. This year’s theme is “Gatsby Noire” and will include dinner, dancing, poetry and singing performances. Tickets cost $30 for S&T students and $35 for non-S&T students. Formal attire is suggested. Please email abs@mst.edu for ticket information.
