Register for an MU Extension strength-training program

This MU Extension strength-training program can get your fitness journey (re)started, right here on campus. Participants will be safely guided by a trained instructor through warm-up, 8 muscle-strengthening exercises and cool down. “Stay strong, stay healthy” meets two times each week for eight weeks, and focuses on improving strength, balance and flexibility. Equipment will be provided.

‘Take Back the Night’ event tomorrow evening

Missouri S&T’s “Take Back the Night” walk around campus will begin at 5 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, April 13) at the Havener Center lawn. Take Back the Night is an international organization that seeks to create safe communities and respectful relationships through awareness events and initiatives. The walk will stop at different points around campus for participants to share survivor stories.

Area A Lot 44 closed April 13

Deloitte to visit campus for multiple events

A team of executives and S&T alumni from the consulting firm Deloitte will visit Missouri S&T Thursday, April 14, and Friday, April 15, to host events for students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community. Deloitte will give lectures, award scholarships, conduct case interview workshops, discuss collaboration plans, and provide a panel for students to ask questions. Water seminar to cover sustainability

The St. Louis section of the Environment Water Resources Institute (EWRI) will host its eighth webinar jointly sponsored by Missouri S&T’s civil engineering department 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21. Dr. Larry Mays, professor of civil, environmental and sustainable engineering at Arizona State University, will present “Water Resources Sustainability, Traditional Knowledge, and the Developing World.” Mays earned bachelor of science and master of science degrees in civil engineering from Missouri S&T in 1970 and 1971, respectively. This presentation is free to the public and will be held at the U.S. Geological Survey Main Conference Room at 1400 Independence Road in Rolla.
