On May 3, approximately 70 representatives from local businesses attended training at the Columbia College Auditorium in Rolla to learn how to improve their social media presence. The three-hour seminar focused on effective use of social media to facilitate business growth. It was co-sponsored by the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at Missouri S&T and the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce.

Participants hailed from a variety of both large and small local businesses including banks, manufacturers, service industries and non-profits. Presenter Anne Cull of ThinkViral headed the training session. Cull covered topics including creating a social media strategy, responding to both positive and negative feedback and facilitating business growth through social media connections.

Missouri S&T’s SBTDC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and is a University of Missouri Extension partner.
