Register for the Teaching and Learning Technology Conference

Registration for the 2016 Teaching and Learning Technology Conference on March 17-18 is now open. This year’s theme is “Learning to Learn.” The opening keynote speaker will be Dr. Linda Nilson, founding director of the Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation at Clemson University. Registration is available online, and attendance is free for all participants.

Apply for OURE or OURE Fellowship

Tuesday, March 1, is the deadline to apply for the 2016-17 Opportunities for Undergraduate Research Experiences (OURE) program. Applications are due no later than Tuesday, March 1, to Room 105 Norwood Hall. For more information, visit the department’s website. Students can also apply to be an OURE Fellow by applying to the same location by Tuesday, March 1.

Gonzo Gives Back Day of Service

Join other S&T students, faculty and staff members in a Gonzo Gives Back service project in the Rolla or St. James communities for St. Pat’s. Groups will be assigned to service projects throughout the area from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17.  Check-in will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the Havener Center dining area.  Service projects will run from about 10:15 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. After the Day of Service, return to campus to participate in Gonzo and Games and grab some lunch. Don’t forget to wear green!

Volunteer to help at FIRST Robotics

Volunteers are needed for the 2016 FIRST FTC Robotics Missouri State Championship at Missouri S&T on Saturday, March 5. The event brings 48 high school robotics teams to campus to compete to advance to FIRST Super Regionals in late March, and hopefully on to FIRST Nationals in late April.
