The Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), operated by the office of technology transfer and economic development (TTED), recently hired Karen Leatherman as a business counselor to provide assistance to small businesses in the region. She is based in the SBTDC office, which serves nine counties in east-central Missouri.
“Karen brings a wealth of experience in many industries, including manufacturing, retail, technology, health care and government,” says Keith Strassner, director of Missouri S&T’s TTED. “Her extensive communications and marketing background will be beneficial to those she counsels and to our office as well.”
Missouri S&T’s SBTDC provides business counseling and training support to small businesses and entrepreneurs in the areas of finance, marketing, general management and technology development. It is a University of Missouri-Extension partner and part of the Missouri SBTDC statewide network, which is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
