On Tuesday, July 12, counseling, disability support and student wellness will offer a full day of training to help you gain the confidence and skill to effectively assist someone in distress. It can be hard to know how to approach a person you are concerned about and to ask important questions to help them seek help. The training is free and will be offered at Christ Episcopal Church in Rolla, 1000 N. Main St. A light breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided.
Please join the department as it partners with Dr. Christy Hutton, assistant director for outreach and prevention at the University of Missouri, to present this information. Space is limited to the first 45 people to sign up. Call 341-4211 and ask for Sandy Ray to register. Counseling, disability support and student wellness will offer a second training session in December if you miss the first one.
