Bookstore to offer one-day Apple sale

The S&T Store will hold a sale on Apple products for S&T faculty and staff Wednesday, Nov. 15. Customers can preorder at thesandtstore.com/applesale. The sale will apply to qualifying in-stock products on Wednesday, Nov. 15, and cannot be combined with other offers or used for department purchases. Some exclusions may apply. Funeral arrangements for Andrew McCullough announced

Andrew McCullough, a senior in applied mathematics and computer science from Lubbock, Texas, and formerly of Raymore, Missouri, died Tuesday, Oct. 31. McCullough was a member of the Gaming Association and was a Student Council representative. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr., in Raymore. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, with interment following at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Boy Scouts of America.

Today’s blood drive ends at 5 p.m.

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is holding a blood drive today (Thursday, Nov. 2). The blood drive began at 11 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m in St. Pat’s Ballroom A and B of the Havener Center. All participants will receive a free T-shirt. Student Council and Lambda Chi Alpha are sponsoring the event.

Flu shot clinic planned tomorrow

Missouri S&T will hold a flu shot clinic 7-10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, in St. Pat’s C of the Havener Center. Please bring a completed flu shot form and your University of Missouri System insurance card. Shots are free for individuals enrolled in a UM medical plan and cost $20 for those not enrolled.

United Way Campaign underway

United Way of Phelps County campaign packets were recently mailed to Missouri S&T faculty, staff and retirees. Employee contributions help several non-profit organizations supported by the United Way, including CASA, Habitat for Humanity, Rolla Nutrition Site, 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Senior Companions, Salvation Army, Kaleidoscope and Golden Age Center. Faculty and staff can donate via payroll deduction as well as by check.

Faculty members can rent regalia for commencement through the S&T Store. Please place your order by Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the store, by calling 341-7522 or email at watsonl@mst.edu. Submit email orders to Linda Watson, retail associate, with the following information: last name, first name, phone number, height in feet and inches, weight in pounds, and school information (name and location). Payment is due at time of pickup. Orders submitted after the Nov. 28 deadline will be subject to a late fee and an expedited shipping fee.

Spacecraft propulsion expert to speak at Research on Tap

Dr. Steven Berg will give a talk titled “A New Paradigm in Spacecraft Propulsion” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the loft at Public House Brewing Co. in Rolla. Berg is co-founder and chief executive officer of Froberg Aerospace LLC, in Rolla. He will provide an overview of traditional chemical and electric rockets, present the multi-mode system currently under development and discuss perspectives on the emerging small-satellite market.
