The Smart Living signature area wants to develop research networks to stimulate smart living research and to be poised for action when calls for grant proposals are announced. A smart living research networking session will be held 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in 216 McNutt Hall. If you would like to be a presenter, please submit one to two PowerPoint slides to Nancy Stone at nstone@mst.edu by Monday, Feb. 19.

To further support the development of networks and proposals, individuals can apply for seed money through the Center for Smart Living. Research teams must be interdisciplinary. Multiple teams could target an assortment of funding agencies. Anyone may attend the session, and 15-20 presenters to give two-minute presentations on who they are, their research focus or need, and their resources or resource availability.

Each presenter may have up to two PowerPoint slides. For example, slide No. 1 can include who you are (research ideas, proposals, or projects related to smart living, expertise areas, current funding or resources available). Slide No. 2 can detail what you need to move forward (collaborators with specific skills, knowledge, or perspective; technology, lab or research access).

Following the presentations will be time to socialize and further discuss ways to build smart living research teams. Snacks will be provided.
