Travel grant applications due today

TThe Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) offers professional development grants of up to $1,000 for early-career faculty, both tenure-track and non-tenure track. The grants are designed to help early-career faculty travel to conferences or workshops for their professional development or to meet with fund managers. One grant is allowed per faculty member per academic year. The application deadline is today (Thursday, March 1). Donations sought for student clothing closet, food pantry

The student diversity initiatives staff is launching a gender-affirming clothing closet as well as a food and household goods pantry. These services are provided free to students. Anyone can donate by bringing items to the Diversity House from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Monetary donations will also be accepted, with all money used to purchase supplies and maintain the closet and pantry. Expect detours near railroad crossing tomorrow

The railroad crossing on Old St. James Road north of 18th Street in Rolla will be closed 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, March 2. Vehicles will not be allowed to cross the railroad tracks during this time. Detours will be in place.

Strategic plan open forums set for March 5

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend an open forum on Missouri S&T’s strategic plan and provide feedback on a revised draft plan presented by Missouri S&T’s Strategic Plan Committee. The forums, previously planned for March 6, have been rescheduled for March 5. The open forums will be held:

Volunteers needed for Earth Day celebration

Missouri S&T’s Environmental Campus Organization (ECO) Miners will host an Earth Day celebration for students of all ages, faculty and staff 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Havener Center’s lawn. The event will feature booths, displays, live music and theater entertainment. Volunteers are needed.
