Read More »Jimmie Taylor, supervisor at the Experimental Mine and part of the mining and nuclear engineering department for 23 years, was inducted into the Missouri Mining Hall of Fame during the Missouri Mine Rescue Association’s award banquet on Thursday, Oct. 1. He has been involved with mine rescue throughout his employment. Missouri S&T was the first university to establish a mine rescue team.

Beetner earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from SIUE in 1990. The school lists Beetner’s undergraduate accomplishments as a Presidential Scholar, a fellow of its Undergraduate Research Academy and a recipient of the SIUE Foundation Academic Excellence Award, along with his professional accomplishments.

The episode Fogg assisted with features the story of actress Jane Seymour’s ancestors, who were Polish Jews that fled the Nazis in France during World War II. The program first aired in the UK on Thursday, Aug. 20.
