Roberta Morgan, program director of the Applied Language Institute, part of international and cultural affairs, became president of the Mid-America Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (MIDTESOL) chapter on Friday, Oct. 23. After serving in this capacity for one year, Morgan will cycle to past-president the following year. MIDTESOL serves Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas, with a primary goal of providing support to those involved with English language teaching at all levels — K-12, refugee and university intensive English programs; teacher education and administration. The group has over 350 members in the region and is working to increase membership.
