Patty Frisbee, director of new student programs, and Lynn Stichnote, director of admissions, recently presented at the 2015 Missouri Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO). Their presentation was titled “The Effect of the Missouri University of Science and Technology Success Mentor Program on Academic Performance and Retention.”
Stichnote also served as a panelist on the “Admissions Panel of Experts” session at the MACRAO conference.
The Success Mentor Program was implemented three years ago as a recommendation of the campus Student Success Committee, and is designed to offer retention support to newly admitted freshmen whose academic preparations indicate they would benefit from academic and engagement enhancement activities provided by the Student Success Center team. More information on the Student Success Center can be found at studentsuccess.mst.edu and data on the success of the Success Mentor Program is available by emailing Frisbee directly.
