Morris-Lehman presents at case manager conference

Krista Morris-Lehman, care coordinator for counseling services, presented on student emergency aid with Amy Geist, director of strategic initiatives with NASPA (Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education) at the 10th annual Higher Education Case Managers Association Roundtable in Williamsburg, Virginia, on June 20. The S&T Student Emergency Fund form is featured on the NASPA Student Advancing Retention in College (ARC) website.

Manufacturing research medal goes to Leu

Dr. Ming Leu, the Keith and Pat Bailey Missouri Professor of Integrated Product Manufacturing, will receive the 2018 Milton C. Shaw Manufacturing Research Medal. The award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers recognizes significant fundamental contributions to the science and technology of manufacturing processes.

Rezaei to lead $330,000 NSF project

Dr. Fateme Rezaei, assistant professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, recently received a $333,680 grant from the National Science Foundation’s Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental and Transport Systems (CBET) to lead research on volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Her co-principal investigator is Dr. Xinhua Liang, associate professor of chemical and biochemical engineering.

S&T team places second in University Rover Challenge

Missouri S&T’s Mars Rover Design Team, winners of the 2017 University Rover Challenge (URC) finished second among a field of 36 collegiate teams in this year’s competition, which was won by Czestochowa University of Technology. Missouri S&T had the top score among the 12 U.S. teams in the competition.

Recent graduate earns Fulbright grant to teach in Russia

Owen Smith, a 2017 physics graduate, has received a Fulbright scholarship grant to study in Russia from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Smith will be an English-language teaching assistant at a Russian university for the academic year from September 2018 to June 2019.

ROI U: Missouri S&T again one of nation’s best values

Missouri S&T is once again ranked as one of the top universities in the nation for the return on investment (ROI) it provides graduates. According to the 2018 PayScale College ROI report, S&T ranks sixth among public and private U.S. schools for annual ROI based on a graduate’s earning potential over a 20-year period.
