Meritorious service award goes to mathematician

Dr. Leon Hall received the Missouri Section of the Mathematical Association of America’s Meritorious Service Award during MathFest in Denver last week.
Hall is a professor emeritus of mathematics at Missouri S&T. He joined the faculty in 1985 and served as the mathematics and statistics department chair for 15 years before retiring in 2013.
Hall has held several positions in the Missouri Section of the MAA, including vice-chair, chair and governor. He also helped coordinate exams for American Mathematics Competitions in the state.
