Dr. Daniel Oerther, professor of civil, architectural, and environmental engineering, has been recognized as a Board Certified Environmental Scientist by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists.
Oerther was certified via eminence in the specialty of environmental microbiology. Certification via eminence is reserved for highly qualified individuals by virtue of their accomplishments including: a minimum of 20 years of experience with at least 10 years of responsible charge; one or more positions of leadership; a record of distinguished honors and awards; and a record of publications.
In 2005, Oerther was Board Certified in Environmental Engineering through examination. He is the first individual to achieve both certification as an engineer and as a scientist, and this reflects his dual training receiving both a bachelor’s of science degree in engineering and a bachelor’s of arts degree in biology.
