Students in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business who are seeking career prep advice are invited to a panel discussion 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center. Dr. Larry Gragg, Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor of history, will moderate the discussion. Alumni will speak about their career progression and experiences. The panelists are members of the Dean’s Leadership Council, a core group of alumni and friends dedicated to advancing and supporting the college. Students and faculty are invited to a presentation on managing a career in technology by Jeff Marker, senior vice president of RSM, noon-12:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in Room 107A Fulton Hall. The Small Business and Technology Development Center at Missouri S&T is co-sponsoring two upcoming events to help individuals improve their business skills.

Missouri S&T will host two sessions of the nationwide Camp Invention program, July 10-14 and July 24-28. The week-long summer day camp is designed for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade. As a Missouri S&T employee, you can register a camper for a discounted price of $165. The regular fee is $225.

Walt Branson, vice chancellor for finance and administration, and Dr. Robert Marley, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, discussed budget planning with the campus community and answered audience questions at an open forum held today, April 7, in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. The slides from their presentation can be downloaded from S&T’s finance and administration website.

A timeline for short-term planning for the FY2018 budget and long-term budget planning is included in the presentation. Missouri S&T continues to be committed to preserving the academic core of the university to the fullest extent possible, preserving revenue streams and moving forward strategically.
