To lessen traffic congestion, University Police will close Miner Circle 3-4 p.m. each day from Monday, July 10, through Friday, July 14. During this time, vehicles will not be allowed to enter Miner Circle from Highway 63. Vehicles exiting campus on Miner Circle at 3-4 p.m. will be directed to go north only (right turns only). University Police officers also will assist with monitoring traffic in the mornings next week, around 8:30 a.m. when campers arrive.
Read More »Doug Roberts, chief of University Police, presented S&T police officer Zach Goodridge with a lifesaving award at the department’s quarterly staff meeting on June 9 for Goodridge’s response to a medical emergency. Goodridge, along with Rolla police officer Christopher Giacolone, performed CPR on an individual in cardiac arrest at the Havener Center on Feb. 25. Chief Roberts also presented Giacolone with a lifesaving award at the Rolla police station.
Read More »Dr. Dimitri Feys, assistant professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, has received a $50,000 grant from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Foundation for research on self-consolidating concrete, or SCC. Feys is the principal investigator of the research project, which is titled “Minimizing the Effect of Pumping on SCC Workability and Freeze-thaw Durability.” The project was one of four selected by the ACI Foundation’s Concrete Research Council.
