Joan Nesbitt, vice chancellor of University Advancement, invites the campus community to a reception to honor Dr. Lea-Ann Morton, assistant vice chancellor of University Advancement, at 4 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Hasselmann Alumni House. After 16 years of service to Missouri S&T, Morton will return to her home state of Arkansas and serve as director of corporate and foundation relations at the University of Arkansas.

Nominations due today for Staff Council

Elections for the 2017-18 year for vacant Staff Council positions are coming up. Nominations are due today (Wednesday, July 19). You may nominate yourself or another staff member for the 2017-18 year. To be eligible to serve on Staff Council, an employee must be a benefit-eligible staff member with at least one year of service before July 1, 2017. You may submit one nomination. Crowdfunding campaign coming up for Leach Theatre

Leach Theatre’s first crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for theater improvements will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1. Participants can choose from different giving levels with various perks. One perk is to receive tickets to Shatner’s World, a one-man, larger-than-life performance by William Shatner on Oct. 29 during Homecoming weekend. Complete your discrimination prevention, MakeITSafe training

Completing annual training requirements is an important step in helping ensure a safe and positive learning and workplace environment. Two training courses will be available through Tuesday, Oct. 31, to fulfill your annual training requirement:

  • “Building a Foundation: Discrimination Prevention and Title IX” will take approximately one hour to complete. Visit us/ectraining to access the training in myLearn.
  • “MakeITSafe Information Security Awareness,” will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To access the training, log in to myHR at umsystem.edu, click on the “myTraining” section in the menu, and then click “MakeITSafe Training.” You will be directed to a Skillsoft course titled, “Security Awareness for End Users.”

Outage for myHR, HRPRD begins at noon today

The HR Production instance (HRPRD) and myHR sites will be unavailable noon-1 p.m. today (Monday, July 17) for unscheduled maintenance. An operating system patch applied during the weekend is causing issues with emailing from within PeopleSoft. The HRPRD and myHR sites and databases will not be available during this outage.
