Read More »New transportation policies start Feb. 1
To increase efficiency and generate savings, policies that govern the University of Missouri System vehicle fleet and other forms of transportation will change starting Thursday, Feb. 1. These changes include:
- A reduction of mileage reimbursement rate from 50.5 cents per mile to 37 cents per mile for travel by personal vehicle. This revised policy aligns with the current mileage rate for the state of Missouri.
- The development of a new Trip Optimizer tool, which will help travelers determine the most cost effective means of travel by vehicle. The tool will include two options: the use of a rental vehicle and reimbursement for personal vehicle miles.
- A partnership with the state on longer-term initiatives, including bulk fuel purchases, asset disposal and a fleet management system.
Amazon Business now available in Show-Me Shop
The University of Missouri System establishes contracts with various suppliers to provide specific items at discounted prices and makes many of these contracts available in eProcurement’s Show-Me Shop. Amazon Business is now available in Show-Me Shop. Purchasing from Amazon Business should be used in conjunction with purchasing through the university’s existing contracted suppliers. Before purchasing items from other non-Show-Me Shop suppliers, you should first check Amazon Business in Show-Me Shop for product availability and pricing.

S&T faculty receive grants for affordable, open educational resources
Six Missouri S&T faculty are working to help students save money on textbooks with grants from the University of Missouri System. The grants are provided through the UM System Affordable & Open Educational Resources (A&OER) initiative. The program encourages faculty experimentation and innovation in finding new, better and less costly ways to deliver learning materials to students. The grants are awarded for three levels of costs and cost savings. The levels and S&T faculty recipients are:

Read More »Strategic plan open forums start tomorrow
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend an open forum on Missouri S&T’s strategic plan and provide feedback on a draft plan presented by Missouri S&T’s Strategic Plan Committee. The open forums will be held:
- 3-3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Room 125 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall
- 2-2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Room 125 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall
Curators approve plans to move forward on Biosciences Complex
The third and final phase of the Biosciences Complex at Missouri S&T is included in the list of major construction and renovation projects approved by the University of Missouri System Board of Curators on Nov. 10. The curators’ approval of this project — further renovation and expansion of Schrenk Hall, which houses the chemistry and biological sciences departments — means it is now on a short list of capital projects that includes a project from each University of Missouri System campus and MU Health Care, or five projects in all. These projects will be further evaluated for consideration at a March 2018 meeting of the Board of Curators Finance Committee. Get more details.
