Phelps Health’s respiratory screening station, located on Tenth Street across from the emergency department, is no longer offering COVID-19 tests or screenings for other respiratory-type illnesses such as influenza or strep throat. Phelps County to hold vaccine clinic Feb. 4-5

Update: This clinic is full and registration is closed. Phelps Health will be the site of an appointment-only drive-through COVID-19 vaccination clinic 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, and Friday, Feb. 5, in the Phelps Health parking lot on 10th Street across from the hospital’s emergency department.

S&T community could receive COVID-19 vaccine soon

Now that COVID-19 vaccines are available, you may be wondering when you can receive the vaccine. The answer depends on your health and age, occupation, and the availability of doses. If you would like S&T to notify you of vaccine availability, please complete this form for faculty and staff. You will be emailed with instructions once the vaccine is available to you. Filling out this survey does not guarantee when you get a vaccine, but it does provide a way for the health care staff to contact you when doses are available.

Researchers working to develop simple breast cancer test

Funded by a $150,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute, a pair of researchers from Missouri S&T and Phelps Health are teaming up to develop a urine test to determine whether a patient may be at increased risk of having breast cancer.
