During Orientation Week, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to work with new students and establish that S&T’s value of inclusion is woven into the fiber of the community. Similar to 2018, faculty and staff will facilitate workshops with small groups of 20-30 students. Facilitators are required to attend one “Diversity Concepts” class and one “Facilitating Difficult Conversations” class. These classes are open to the campus and provide an opportunity for professional development and earning wellness incentive points.Read More »

The Orientation Advisory Council for new student programs will host an open session 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in St. Pat’s C of the Havener Center.Read More »
The office of new student programs is gearing up to welcome the freshman class of 2018 to the Miner family. Students will arrive on campus to move in Sunday, Aug. 12. Opening Week will officially kick off that evening with a “Party at the Puck” picnic. Activities will continue through Saturday, Aug. 18.
Throughout the week, students will:
- Complete an academic workshop, learn about campus and college life, participate in a team-based experiential learning project, and discover what it means to be a Miner.
- Be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, Aug. 17, to watch the races through campus and cheer on new students.
