Michelle Wiginton-Pipes is a fifth-generation Rolla resident. “I have many, many engineers in my family tree,” she says. “When we were young, we heard stories of ‘when I was in college’ from family, so I was raised thinking that going to college and working at S&T is just what you did,” she says.

Women are needed to volunteer as group guides for attendees of the 19th annual Expanding Your Horizons conference, which will be held Friday, Oct. 5, at S&T. The conference introduces seventh- and eighth-grade girls to careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. The event brings more than 450 Missouri students to campus.
