Updates for the S&T community
Women are needed to volunteer as group guides for attendees of the 19th annual Expanding Your Horizons conference, which will be held Friday, Oct. 5, at S&T. The conference introduces seventh- and eighth-grade girls to careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. The event brings more than 450 Missouri students to campus.
Each workshop will be conducted two times, at 10:10-11 a.m. and 11:10 a.m.-noon, with 12-18 students per session. All volunteers are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch.
Female faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to volunteer to help the student groups navigate the campus. Guiding a group is a great way to contribute to the students’ experience on campus. The hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and lunch is provided for all volunteers. Sign up to volunteer as a guide online. Training is available for new volunteers. To volunteer to serve as a group guide, please visit eyh.mst.edu.
For more information or to sign-up as a workshop presenter, please contact Michelle Wiginton at wigintonm@mst.edu or professional and continuing education at 341-6222.
