Microsoft 365 Quotas for OneDrive, SharePoint and Exchange coming May 28

After reviewing the contract terms for file storage in Microsoft 365 for the UM System, a four-campus committee led by UM System IT found that current usage trends indicate we will exceed the allotted storage. To avoid this, more conservative limits will be implemented by the end of May 2024.

Learn about S&T’s new HPC cluster

To kick off the introduction of S&T’s newest high-performance computing (HPC) cluster, information technology’s research support solutions team will host a supercomputing training event on Tuesday, April 2, in St. Pat’s Ballroom B in the Havener Center and on Zoom. “The Mill” is the name of the new cluster.

‘GoFetch’ bug affects Apple Silicon hardware in Macs

A new security flaw, referred to as GoFetch, has been discovered in the Apple Silicon architecture for Mac computers. The security flaw could allow malicious actors with access to your machine to extract sensitive information, including passwords and secret cryptographic keys.

New Teams migration begins today

Since the new Microsoft Teams became available you’ve been free to toggle back and forth between the classic version of Teams and the new version of Teams. As of today, Monday, March 25, UM System will fully transition to the new version, and you will no longer have the option to use the classic version.

Learn about MacOS security updates

Beginning yesterday, Wednesday, Jan. 24, Missouri S&T IT began pushing out mandatory security updates for MacOS Sonoma, Ventura, and Monterey on JAMF-enabled machines. MacOS Sonoma 14.3, Ventura 13.6.4, and Monterey 12.7.3 address multiple major security flaws and it is highly recommended that faculty and staff update at their earliest convenience.
