Paaren’s nuclear engineering interest starts with Boy Scouts, leads to DOE

Kyle Paaren’s interest in nuclear engineering was first sparked when he earned a Boy Scouts merit badge on the subject at age 11. Fast forward a few years, and Paaren, who is now a Ph.D. student in nuclear engineering at S&T, has been awarded an Integrated University Program (IUP) Fellowship by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
