Adekunle Adesanya, a Ph.D. student in material sciences and engineering, earned first place and Reese Hutchins, a Ph.D. student in ceramic engineering, earned third place in the inaugural Glass Strengthening Competition organized by the Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation.

Dr. Charmayne Lonergan, an assistant professor of materials science and engineering, has been selected for the American Ceramic Society’s 2025 Du-Co Ceramics Young Professional Award.

ADVANCE awards first department enhancement grants

Four proposals were selected for funding through S&T’s ADVANCE Program’s Department Enhancement Grant initiative. These grants help departments implement strategies to reduce inequities and enhance the departmental climate, especially in the recruitment, retention and advancement of women.
