Oct. 1 is deadline for student commencement speaker applications
Graduating seniors, master’s degree students and Ph.D. students from each college are encouraged to apply for selection as a student speaker for their Winter 2018 commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 15. The speakers, who are selected through an application process and competition, must be members of the graduating class they plan to address.

A search committee has been created to assist in finding the next associate provost for faculty affairs at Missouri S&T, who will begin serving in that role Friday, June 1. The position will be a full-time equivalent (FTE) position with 80 percent of the time performing administrative duties as associate provost and 20 percent of the time serving as a faculty member in the individual’s home department. The campus community is invited to a retirement reception honoring Dr. Warren K. (Kent) Wray 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in St. Pat’s C of the Havener Center. The theme will be “Around the World with Kent Wray Retirement Tour.” A short program will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Four educational research projects developed by Missouri S&T faculty have been funded for the 2014-2015 academic year as part of a mini-grant program co-sponsored by the office of the vice provost for academic affairs and the Center for Educational Research and Teaching Innovation (CERTI).
