Campus master plan updates set for Dec. 7

Students, faculty and staff are invited to open forums to review progress and provide input on Missouri S&T’s campus master plan. The meetings will be 12:30-2 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center. Please attend the forum that works best with your schedule. The campus master plan focuses on the physical campus environment (buildings, facilities and grounds).

Elgin named ‘Surveyor of the Year’

Dr. Richard Elgin, adjunct professor of civil engineering, was named “Surveyor of the Year” by the Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors during the organization’s recent annual convention. Elgin is semi-retired from Archer-Elgin Engineering, Surveying and Architecture, where he reviews and manages some of the firm’s special survey projects. At Missouri S&T, Elgin teaches the required surveying course within the department of civil engineering.

Manuel leads organization for higher education diversity officers

Shenethia Manuel, vice chancellor for Human Resources, Equity and Inclusion at Missouri S&T, successfully led the inaugural meeting of the Missouri Diversity Officers in Higher Education (MODOHE) in Kansas City, Missouri, Oct. 23-24. MODOHE is the statewide chapter of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. Manuel is inaugural president of the recently formed organization.
