Leach Theatre’s first crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for theater improvements will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1. Participants can choose from different giving levels with various perks. One perk is to receive tickets to Shatner’s World, a one-man, larger-than-life performance by William Shatner on Oct. 29 during Homecoming weekend. Dr. Lenka Fedorkova, founder and chief executive officer of bioPrime LLC, will present the keynote address, “Accessing NIH’s Research Dollars: An Insider’s Perspective on Funding Options and Strategies,” at the Ozark Biomedical Initiative Research Symposium. The event will be held 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. It is free and lunch will be provided. To register, please visit http://obi.mst.edu.

Completing annual training requirements is an important step in helping ensure a safe and positive learning and workplace environment. Two training courses will be available through Tuesday, Oct. 31, to fulfill your annual training requirement:

• “Building a Foundation: Discrimination Prevention and Title IX” will take approximately one hour to complete. Visit us/ectraining to access the training in myLearn.
• “MakeITSafe Information Security Awareness,” will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To access the training, log in to myHR at umsystem.edu, click on the “myTraining” section in the menu, and then click “MakeITSafe Training.” You will be directed to a Skillsoft course titled, “Security Awareness for End Users.”

The HR Production instance (HRPRD) and myHR sites will be unavailable noon-1 p.m. today (Monday, July 17) for unscheduled maintenance. An operating system patch applied during the weekend is causing issues with emailing from within PeopleSoft. The HRPRD and myHR sites and databases will not be available during this outage. Students, faculty and clinicians are invited to submit an abstract for the Ozark Biomedical Initiative Research Symposium, which will be held 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. Abstracts are due online at obi.mst.edu/abstractform by Saturday, July 15.

Due to construction in Parking Area F Lot 1, the road behind Parker Hall will have constricted access from Wednesday, July 12, to Friday, July 14. Crews will be digging up pavement. Due to Project Lead The Way training on campus, the Area L parking lots near Emerson Hall are filling up. The training began July 10 and will conclude Friday, July 21. During this time, permit L holders may park in metered lots L-6 and L-14 at no additional charge.
