A daylong power outage that will affect several buildings on campus is planned for later this month after the end of the fall semester. Specifics about the outage, including the date, are still under discussion. The outage is required for replacement of one of S&T’s substation transformers, and scheduling of the replacement requires coordination with experts from outside organizations.
Campus to remain open
Current plans call for campus to remain open during this outage. Supervisors will work with employees who work in buildings affected by this outage to determine off-site arrangements (such as working from home) or alternative hours. More information about staffing during the outage will be provided later, once a date for the outage is determined.
