Maples to present budget briefings May 9
Dr. Christopher Maples, interim chancellor, will update the campus community on the latest budget developments during two budget briefings Wednesday, May 9. Dr. Robert Marley, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, has appointed Dr. Daniel Forciniti, professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, as associate provost of faculty affairs, effective June 1. In his new role, Forciniti will assist the provost’s office with faculty and workload assignment, promotion and tenure policy, and other matters in faculty affairs. He also will represent Marley on various committees and at events, including working directly with academic affairs officials at the University of Missouri System and on other UM System campuses.

Three candidates have been invited to interview for the position of Career Opportunities and Employer Relations (COER) director. Staff Day T-shirt orders due tomorrow
If you don’t have boots to wear for this year’s western-themed Staff Day on Wednesday, May 30, the T-shirt design has you covered. Check it out on the Staff Council webpage. Miner Threat beats Air Force Academy, advances to nationals
Miner Threat, Missouri S&T men’s Ultimate Frisbee team, has qualified for the club sport’s national championships, to be held May 19-20 in Rockford, Illinois. The Ultimate team finished first in USA Ultimate’s South Central regional competition on April 28-29, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, an event that drew competitors from Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

The Leach Theatre Box Office will begin summer office hours on Monday, May 14. The summer box office hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Regular box office hours will resume Monday, Aug. 20.
