Physics professor’s play premieres this week

Dr. Greg Story’s original play, “Dramatic Paws,” will be presented the next two weekends at the Lyric Live Theater in Newburg, Missouri. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. all four evenings: Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22, and Sept. 28-29.

Dr. Lucie Johannes Sommer, a metallurgical engineering graduate, will give the 10th annual Thomas J. O’Keefe Lecture at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Room 204 McNutt Hall. A reception will precede the lecture at 2:45-3:15 p.m. in McNutt Hall Commons. Her lecture is titled “Career Paths: A Metallurgical Engineer’s Path at NASA.”

‘Worriers to Warriors’ helps students conquer test anxiety

The counseling services staff offers a three-session workshop titled “Worriers to Warriors: Conquering Test Anxiety” to help students manage their anxiety and perform better academically. The series will be held 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Fridays, Sept. 21, Sept. 28 and Oct. 5. Students can contact counseling services at counsel@mst.edu or 341-4211 for the location and to reserve their space. Please share the street parking

University Police reminds drivers who park in residential areas on the west side of Bishop Ave. to move their vehicles every 72 hours, per Rolla’s policy. This area includes side streets in the residential areas behind Dairy Queen, Taco Bell and Huddle House restaurants. Several of the homeowners in the area are having difficulty finding street parking near their homes. The police thank individuals who park in the area for being neighborly and mindful of the residents. Vehicles that are not moved every 72 hours are subject to being ticketed or towed by the Rolla Police Department.
