Statewide tornado drill planned March 5
Phelps County will participate in the 2019 statewide tornado drill, and residents should hear sirens at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5. In case of severe weather on the day of the drill, the drill will be moved to 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7.

Tickets are now available for the upcoming free presentation by St. Louis entrepreneur and philanthropist Jim McKelvey, co-founder of the mobile payment platform Square. McKelvey will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in Leach Theatre. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required.

Employees have reported a recent scam in which a caller will claim to have discounted printer toners after verifying the employee’s name and job title. Without agreeing to purchase the toners or placing an order, the company may ship the items and an invoice. In one instance, the company name was Advanced Imaging Systems.
